The short version
- We collect what you send us: through our request form, our SoloDaze email signup, or by email, text, phone or our Facebook page. If we contact your business first, we use only what it has made public.
- We use it to reply to you, build your free sample, send the SoloDaze emails you sign up for and, if you become a client, build and run your website.
- We never sell or rent your information. This site has no cookies or ads, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
- You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
DazeOps LLC builds websites for small businesses in northern Michigan and, under the name SoloDaze, makes templates for people who run their own business. We're based in Cadillac, Michigan. In this policy, "we," "us" and "our" mean DazeOps LLC. It covers this website (dazeops.com), including SoloDaze's free downloads page (dazeops.com/free), the website previews we share with businesses (preview.dazeops.com), and the ways you can reach us from them.
What we collect
When you fill out our request form
Your name, your business name, your email and/or phone number, your town, where we can see your business now (like a Facebook page or Google listing), and what your business does. Only your name, business name and one way to reach you are required. The rest is up to you.
When you sign up for SoloDaze emails
Your email address and, if you choose to tell us, your phone type (Android or iPhone) and your kind of business. Buttondown, the service that sends these emails, also records the details of your signup: your IP address, a country worked out from it, and the website you signed up from. It uses them to check that signups are real and to block spam.
When you email, call or text us
Whatever you choose to send us, along with your email address or phone number.
When you reach us on Facebook
Our Facebook page (facebook.com/dazeops) runs on Facebook, not on this site. If you message us there, comment on a post or follow the page, we see what you send and use it the same way as an email or text. Facebook also handles it, under its own privacy policy. The link to our page here is a plain link: nothing from Facebook loads on this site.
When we contact your business first
If we reached out to you first, we found your business through public information, like Google listings, Facebook pages and online reviews. We don't buy contact lists. Tell us you're not interested and we'll stop.
When you visit the site
Like any website, the company that hosts our site automatically receives basic technical details, such as your IP address, your browser type and which page you asked for. We don't use these details to figure out who you are.
How we use it
- To reply to your request and answer your questions
- To build your free sample website
- If you become a client: to build and run your website, send invoices, and keep in touch about your site
- If you sign up for SoloDaze emails: to send the tax-date reminders, rate notes and Stubs news you signed up for, and to count how many people want Stubs on iPhone
- To keep the business and tax records the law requires
If you ask for a free sample or send us a question, we may follow up with you about it. Just tell us if you'd like us to stop, and we will. We don't add you to mailing lists unless you sign up for one yourself.
Who else handles it
We don't sell, rent or trade your information. A few companies help us run this site, our email, our phone line and SoloDaze's email list. They handle your information only to provide those services to us:
- Web3Forms delivers our request form to our email inbox. It keeps a copy of each request for 30 days, then deletes it. To block spam, it may check the sender's IP address and email address with CleanTalk. Web3Forms privacy · CleanTalk privacy
- Buttondown sends SoloDaze's emails and keeps the list of people who signed up: their email address, their answers and the signup details above. We've switched off its tracking of opens and clicks. Buttondown privacy
- Google hosts our email (Google Workspace) and our business phone line (Google Voice). Google privacy
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits so we can see which pages people use (it's switched off on our free downloads page). It doesn't use cookies or follow you to other websites. Cloudflare privacy
Facebook is different. If you reach us through our Facebook page, Meta (the company that runs Facebook) handles what you send under its own policy, not only on our behalf. Meta privacy
One more, for clients only. If you become a client and we register your website's address (its domain) for you, the name, mailing address, phone number and email you give us for it go to Porkbun, the domain company we use, so the domain is registered in your name. Porkbun handles them under its own policy. We keep its privacy service switched on, so they aren't shown in the public record of who owns a domain. Porkbun privacy
Also for clients, payments go through Stripe. When you pay an invoice or set up automatic payments, you type your card or bank details into Stripe's secure page, and Stripe keeps them along with your name, email and billing address. We see only the type and last four digits of your card, or your bank's name and last four digits, never the full number. Stripe also uses payment details for its own purposes, like preventing fraud and meeting banking rules, under its own policy. Stripe privacy
We'd only share your information beyond that if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't use cookies, ad trackers or tracking pixels. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which shows us how many people visit and which pages they look at, without cookies. It's switched off on our free downloads page (dazeops.com/free), which counts nothing. We don't follow you across other websites, and we don't let anyone else do that on our site. SoloDaze's emails don't track whether you open them or which links you click.
Do Not Track: some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Since we don't track visitors over time or across other sites, there's nothing for that signal to turn off. Every visitor gets the same private experience.
How long we keep it
- Web3Forms deletes its copy of each form request after 30 days.
- We keep your requests and messages only as long as we need them to talk with you about your website, or until you ask us to delete them.
- If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as the law and our tax records require.
- If you sign up for SoloDaze emails, we keep your details while you're subscribed. Unsubscribe and you're taken off the list within 7 days; a signup that's never confirmed comes off after 30 days.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we have about you, or to stop contacting you. Email or call us (below) and we'll take care of it within 30 days. To stop SoloDaze emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them. If you're a client, we may need to keep some billing records the law requires, and we'll tell you if so.
Keeping it safe
This site uses HTTPS encryption, and the companies above protect your information when it's sent and stored. No method is perfect, so please don't send passwords or payment card numbers through our form, by email or by text.
Children
This site is for business owners. It isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Websites we build for clients
This policy covers DazeOps's own site and our website previews. Each website we build for a client has its own privacy policy for that site's visitors.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
